What is the best margarita blender? Loaded question. And there’s not really a right or wrong answer as to the best margarita blender – it all comes down to what is best for you. Far more important to the quality of the margarita itself is the ingredients you pack into it.
Before you research and ultimately buy a margarita blender, you should ask yourself a few questions along the lines of:
- What’s important? Cost versus value?
- What features do you need?
- Is visual appeal important? When you host parties do you want to look like a bartender at Margaritaville?
- How much use is this machine going to get, long-term?
- Is versatility important?
Margarita Blender: Cost Versus Value
Just like when it comes to types of tequila, you get what you pay for. A pricier margarita blender will come with a plethora of features that you may or may not need. If you’re just diving into the world of tequila and margaritas – it’s understandable if you don’t want to pay upfront for a margarita blender that costs $300+.
In that case, there are plenty of margarita blenders that will meet your needs:
- Nostalgia Electrics FBS400 (Buy it here – $31)
- Nostalgia Electrics MSB64 (Buy it here – $49)
- Nostalgia Electrics HSB590 (Buy it here – $78)
Of course, the higher in price you go the more features you get…
Margarita Blender: Features
We won’t lie – there is very little that a high end margarita blender can do that you can’t do manually. But you have to decide if that’s worth it. A high end device will have features that allow you to blend in ice automatically, measure drinks with precision, or make different flavors or margaritas at the same time.
Personally, we think there’s no reason that you can’t save $200 and just measure the ice yourself with a lower end margarita blender.
So ask yourself – what features do I want in my margarita device? How much prep work do I want to do?
Margarita Blender: Visual
It might seem vain, but visual appeal is important! You wouldn’t buy a car or house that you didn’t like the look of, would you? The same applies for almost every household or kitchen item. You want something to be proud of and to show off to your friends. Everyone walking through your house would be wowed by the above margarita blender, no doubt about it.
But is it really worth the price tag?
Personally, we think that this margarita blender is a decent mix of price, quality, and visual appeal.
Margarita Blender: How Much Use Will It Get?
This is pretty straightforward.
Are you going to use your blender only at your once-a-year pool party? If so, there is no sense dropping huge money on one.
Now, if you live in the tropics and margaritas are a multiple-time-a-week treat for you – then perhaps a high end margarita maker is the right choice for you.
Margarita Blender: Versatility
Frankly, there is no reason whatsoever that you can’t use a normal blender to make margaritas. In fact, for most people it will probably suffice.
In our opinion, a high end margarita blender is not worth it unless you’re going to be using it at least on a weekly basis. Other than that, you might as well invest your money in a decent blender – many of you probably already have one. Consider upgrading that before making a large investment in a margarita specific device.
