An easy way for a new twist and taste on a classic cocktail is with a tequila mojito recipe. Instead of using rum, you can have a bit more of a “kick” in your mojito with this tequila mojito recipe.
And to be frank, a tequila mojito recipe can have multiple variations. There isn’t really a right or wrong way to execute a tequila mojito recipe. In contrast, cocktails like the tequila sunrise are a little less prone to different variations.
But most tequila mojito recipes, at their core, contain the following:
- 2oz of mint leaves
- 2oz Blanco tequila (click here to read about tequila types)
- 1oz lime juice
- 2oz club soda
Many people take this further, and mix in blue agave nectar, melted sugar, etc. Play around and do some Google searching to see if there are any other ingredients you’d like to add to your tequila mojito recipe.
Tequila Mojito Instructions
- Set mint leaves into shaker
- Add other ingredients
- Shake everything together, strain into a highball or Collins glass
- Optional: garnish with leaves or lime (it does look very cool on this recipe so we consider it not-really-optional!)
