So you want to know how to make a Tequila Sunrise; a classic tequila recipe that will never go out of style. This cocktail is very basic and is an easy endeavor for even a beginning mixologist to put together.

A tequila sunrise cocktail is perfect for a hot summer day, or even brunch if morning drinking is more your style.

How to Make a Tequila Sunrise

  • 1.5oz of your favorite tequila
  • 1.5 oz grenadine syrup
  • 1/2-1 cup of orange juice
  • Ice cubes

  • Orange peel for garnish
  • Cherry for garnish
  • Fresh squeezed orange juice…but who has time for that!

Instructions how to make a tequila sunrise:

Pour tequila and orange juice into a cocktail shaker (there is an affordable one here) and allow them to mix together sufficiently. Fill a glass with ice cubes, and pour in tequila/orange juice mixture. Tilting the cup slightly, pour the grenadine slowly into the cup and allow it to settle – which may take a minute. As the grenadine settles, you should get a “sunset” like effect.

Final Step: Enjoy!
